Belt Scale
Belt Scale
Manxing Belt Scales are continuous bulk material weighing systems designed for accurate real-time measurement of material flow on belt conveyor systems. They are widely used in cement plants, grain storage facilities, mining operations, biomass projects, power plants, chemical factories, and industrial bulk material handling systems where continuous monitoring and process control are essential.
The system measures the weight of materials moving on a conveyor belt together with belt speed to calculate precise material throughput and total conveyed quantity. Belt scales play a critical role in inventory management, production control, batching operations, and bulk loading systems.
Manxing Belt Scales are suitable for handling powdered, granular, and bulk solid materials such as cement, clinker, fly ash, coal, grain, limestone, biomass pellets, fertilizers, and mineral ores.

Working Principle
Electronic belt scale is generally composed of scale, weighing sensor, speed sensor and secondary instrument. Weighing of electronic belt scale is to transfer quality of material on conveyor belt and conveyor belt speed into electrical signals through weighing sensor and speed sensor when the material is in the conveying state. Then field amplifier properly processes the two sets of signals and transmits them to main control computer for accumulation, adjustment and control. Finally, the cumulative weighing results are given. This is the automatic and continuous cumulative measurement process of belt scale by using modern control principle.
The belt scale continuously measures the load carried by the conveyor belt through precision load cells installed beneath the weighing idlers. Combined with belt speed sensors, the system calculates the real-time material flow rate and accumulated throughput.
The weighing data can be transmitted to PLC or DCS systems for automated process control, inventory tracking, and production optimization.
Traditional bulk material conveying systems often face operational issues such as:
Inaccurate material flow measurement
Material overfeeding or underfeeding
Production instability caused by inconsistent flow rates
Inventory calculation errors
Conveyor vibration affecting weighing precision
Dust accumulation damaging sensors and components
Difficult calibration and high maintenance costs
These issues can lead to material waste, reduced production efficiency, unstable batching performance, and inaccurate operational data.
