As a key African gypsum exporter, Egypt launched the 6×800m³ Gypsum Powder Silos Project to address growing efficient storage needs. With 2025 export records and ongoing market growth, the project narrows the production-storage gap, advancing sector modernization and competitiveness.

The project consists of five 800m³ bolted steel silos (total 4,800m³), a major regional facility. Bolted steel is adopted for its portability, airtightness (preserving gypsum quality), and climate durability, with each silo equipped with dust collectors and screw conveyors to solve traditional issues.
Meeting international standards, each silo (8m diameter, 6-10mm thickness) is customized for gypsum, with advanced redundant power control systems and moisture-resistant design to avoid quality problems.
Construction overcame tight timelines and complex on-site conditions via prefabricated components and precise logistics. Strict quality and safety controls ensured high standards and zero incidents.
Key benefits include reduced storage losses, better export inventory management, uninterrupted full-capacity production, and environmental compliance, enhancing Egypt’s export reputation.
The project strengthens Egypt’s leading position in African gypsum exports, supporting its ability to tap into the 2035 projected 11 million tons/$1.1 billion African market and serving as an industrial storage model.
Looking ahead, the silos’ modular design allows easy expansion, while fostering international cooperation and technological innovation in the gypsum and silo sectors.
In short, this strategic project addresses infrastructure gaps, boosts efficiency and quality, and drives Egypt’s gypsum industry growth as a key African industrial player.
