Strip Stockyard with Stacker-Reclaimer

The strip (longitudinal) stockyard is the most widely used open or semi-enclosed bulk material storage method in heavy industry. Material is stacked in long, parallel rows by a traveling stacker, then reclaimed by a bridge scraper or bucket-wheel reclaimer that cuts a cross-section through the pile, achieving automatic blending and homogenization.

Homogenization Effect

The stacking-reclaiming process inherently homogenizes the stored material. Each cross-section cut through the pile retrieves material from hundreds of different stacking layers, reducing chemical composition variation by 70-90%. This makes strip stockyards particularly valuable for cement raw material and clinker storage where composition consistency is critical.
