Aeration Pad System for Flat Bottom Silos
Fine powders stored in flat bottom silos compact under their own weight, forming a dense, impermeable bed that resists gravity discharge. Our aeration pad system introduces low-pressure air through porous media embedded in the silo floor, fluidizing the material into a semi-liquid state that flows freely toward the discharge outlet.
How Aeration Pads Work
Sintered stainless steel or ceramic porous elements are recessed into the silo floor in a carefully designed pattern. Compressed air (0.2-0.5 bar) passes through the porous media, creating a thin air film on the material surface. This reduces the effective friction between particles, allowing gravity to pull the material downward and outward.
