Multi-Point Flat Bottom Silo Discharge System
Flat bottom silos offer the lowest cost per tonne of storage capacity, but their discharge performance depends entirely on the reclaim system design. Our multi-point screw reclaimer system transforms a flat bottom silo from a "dead storage" vessel into a reliable, first-in-first-out (FIFO) storage system with 95%+ material recovery.
Design Principle
A grid of screw conveyors installed across the silo floor creates multiple simultaneous discharge points. Each screw operates independently, allowing the control system to activate zones sequentially or simultaneously to achieve a uniform draw-down pattern across the entire silo cross-section.
System Components
- Floor screws: 200-400mm diameter, wear-resistant steel, spaced 1.5-3m apart
- Collecting conveyor: Central trough or tunnel conveyor beneath the screw outlets
- Control system: PLC-based zone sequencing with load feedback from each screw motor
- Aeration pads: Optional fluidization system for cohesive materials (cement, fly ash)
